The Voice he was nicknamed and that is something to be proud of. Frank Sinatra, the one and only. Did he always sleep with movie stars? Was he involved with the mafia? He is on stamps, he was friends with the Kennedy's and he has left an impressive amount of work for the world to look and listen to. There isn't anything to look at but you can listen to a little collection of his work. Here's why the voice is called: The Voice!

The Eagles are a band that play a sort of, we have to please everybody, music. And let's be honest, they do that very well. You will find elements of rock, country, blues and some decent harmonies in their songs. Would the Eagles have had the same impact today if they would have started their career I wonder but that doesn't mean that it's not worth to listen to their music. It's the multibilliongazillion selling album: Hotel California  and a collection of songs. Have a good time.

The incredible thing about AC/DC is that all their albums went platinum. Their music is based on the use of power chords and songs with simple structures. A strong thumping rhythm and a rather nasal voice completes the line up. . I have found that you either like AC/DC or you don't. Personally, besides of a few songs, I'm not a big fan of AC/DC but without a shadow of a doubt you have to respect the fact that they are the fifth best selling band in history and are known all over the world. You will find his music back in movies, tv-series, commercials and it is also covered by other artists. Wonderful sweet and soulful music. Mostly based on piano accords that went extremely well with the voice of the lead vocalist, the Carpenters have without a doubt managed to create their own style and sound. Great harmonies and beautiful song structures. The music of the Carpenters is, because it is so absolutely non-violent, always nice to hear in the back ground and when you start to pay attention to it you will discover more and more moments where, musically, some high standing performances have been recorded. I have often wondered what kind of musician this Billy Idol is. Rock/punk of course but I have never been able to, how shall I say, to really get into his music. And than I was actually surprised by realising how many of his songs I knew and even more about the fact that (now I come of age) I like a lot of his music. So here you have a playlist of his best tracks and I stronly advise you, if you like this of course, check out his "live" stuff as well. You won't be disappointed. Have a good time. 

The band 10cc is one of my favourite bands. They have these weird structured songs with rhythm changes or entirely different musical settings in the same song. I see them as a sort of Frank Zappa band in pop-music. I like the way how their music sounds fun and in a weird way optimistic. They have some great vocal harmonies going on in more than one of their songs and of course, check out the classic: I'm not in love. Have a good time.

This is fantastic soothing and well sounding dance music. What a lovely distinguished voice and I just love how she pronounces dance floor. Her music has a fantastic way of using samples and instruments. The beats are simply uncomplicated and very dance-able. Sophie Ellis-Bextor has a voice that grooves. She is not the "belting songs out vocalist", she is more somebody who is able to intertwine her voice with the music and the result is outstanding. Here's a collection of her work, enjoy...

Buddy Holly was a rock 'n roll artist. He was only active for four years and during those four years he has changed the way of making music forever. A young man with great love for his music died at the age of twenty two in a plane crash. The people he influenced are  (almost) countless and even in today's rock 'n roll music you can hear from time to time the structures that have been used by Buddy Holly for the first time.
