Music with quality

This artist is perhaps the most creative artist in musical territory that has ever walked the Earth. I'm not saying that this means that he is also the most successful artist but I do think that where it involves changing styles and doing things completely different, David Bowie is the person that  has been touching the most different music styles. Always surprising and never under par. Enjoy his music.

Published on 15/03/2013 his latest album The Next Day.
Concerning this album I would like to say, this is David Bowie. Musical wise there is nothing new but The Next Day is a well crafted album by the master himself. Creative, surprising, filled with sounds and structures to discover and treasure but also easy to listen to and thoroughly enjoyable. Great piece of work, thank you Mr. David Bowie.

This band has "only" released twelve albums and sold however more than hundred and fifty million albums. U2 has also obtained twenty two music awards so I think it's safe to say that they have earned a place on this website. Somehow, I don't know why, I personally am still not a huge fan of U2. It is perhaps because there is never a big climax in their songs, I mean that exploding guitar solo or that burst of anger that makes that the voice is belting out something. Still, to say the least, it's always nice to hear U2 gently in the background.

A lovely Welsh rock band. The Stereophonics have a great sound and the lead vocal is just nothing short of fantastic. Their music is rough and hard but not what I would call  aggressive. It's lovely to hear them rocking away in a sort of friendly kinda manner. Wonderful structures in their songs. If you like rock music, you need to be aware of this.

He is considered the best guitarist in the world if we may believe Rolling Stone. I think that yes, he once was but today there are others. Would Jimi Hendrix have been alive today it would have been interesting to see how he would have developed. No need to explain you who he has influenced, I'm sure you know a name or two. Here is a compilation of his work, enjoy and admire...

Hard Funk Funny Metal, should be their category. Infectious Grooves is the ultimate fantastic thisishowtoplay band. And on top of that they have a great sense of humor. This is musical art with boots to kick your ass. A shame that they are about he only ones to make that kind of music. If anyone has a suggestion???? Listen to their music and get groovin...

A band with power. Original songs, great way of playing and yes... the musicians are fantastic and what I appreciate the most is that they are not showing of. All the songs have great energy, the speed is at times incredible and yet they never forget to pay attention to a nice melody. So simple, Suicidal Tendencies gets from me a big thumbs up!!! Listen to some of their work here.

Steve Miller (now I come to think of it) is the kind of musician I listen to when I want to hear something I know but I don't have to pay attention. Yet, if I do pay attention I know that I will hear all those little sounds that make the music of Steve Miller so outstanding. Lovely musical gems, created to reflect a sound that's easy on the ears. Great job!!!

She is : The Queen of Soul. If you listen to  Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Lopez etc, you easily discover that they have all learned to sing following the way of the Queen of Soul; Aretha Franklin. A beautiful, powerful voice in which you can hear so much emotions. This lady has set the standard on how to sing and sing right for future generations. An absolute fantastic artist!!!

The Moody Blues is a band that has created walls of sound. They are very orchestra orientated and use that brilliantly. The vocal arrangements are well worth to listen to, too. This band is responsible for the introduction of the mellotron into pop music. A very creative band that has made some fantastic tunes, have a good time.

This group has made some fantastic songs. As they aimed, to be a band that sold entire albums instead of singles, their songs were not restricted to the short time limit but elaborated well over that in beautifully pieces of music. For some reason, Manfred Mann's Earth Band gives me a similar feeling of satisfaction as when I listen to Marillion. If anybody has a theory about this...I have put up five of their albums and I'm sure you will be in for a treat. Have a good time.
