I admit that I was slightly surprised when I eventually found out who this was. Well, what band this was. A is a rock band and they have made this album that stands out above a lot of others. The album HI-FI Serious is a mixture of great guitars, vocals (and what a vocals you can hear on this album, fantastic.) an extraordinary rhythm section and all is dipped in this bowl of extra nicely placed sample sounds. A marvel of heavy creativity. Enjoy.

A pop band that had to change style of music almost every album in order to survive. Not many bands can claim that they have been able to do that with their albums but Blur can. Their music has put English music, again, on the American market. The most surprising thing about their albums is that almost all of them have had charting hits as well. Another feat that shows that the quality of their music is as rich as it has to be diverse, as their music has been bought by millions of people. Enjoy their work...

A band with a ferocious appetite for power. The album is called Powertrippin' so that might have something to do with it. A big sound from the guitars, a voice that goes brilliantly with it and a rhythm section that is so good, it gets reactions that attack your underwear. The Almighty are this wonderful hard rock band with this lovely powerful sound. The songs are well structured and nicely build up. The sound over all is heavy but not over distortioned or too much blown up. This is great if you like some good rock music. Enjoy...

A great band with a collection of excellent songs. Heart was a rock influence and showed also that girls could make rock music as well. (We're talking beginning of the seventies, here) Not only did Heart create fantastic melodies in their songs, they understood that in order to be accepted as a "female" rock group they had to work harder and sound better than anybody else. This certainly helped them to create songs like Barracuda, Crazy on you and Alone by the way, listen to the unplugged version of Alone, it makes you wonder how long the list of covers would be before you hear a different and better version. Anyhow, enjoy this compilation of their work...

A new face in Musicland. Colt Ford has mixed country music with hip-hop and does some great rapping, with a southern drawl.  It's laid back, it has great lyrics, very funny at times and if you don't like country music (it happens) this may actually win you over. Subjects in his songs are: When your boss is a jerk, drinking beer, GRITS to name just some. I think Mr Colt Ford is on his way to set a trend here. Have a listen and enjoy...

Pat Benatar sings rock and pop-rock music, she had hits during he eighties. The songs are well performed and the people playing the instruments do a great job. I personally find the music a bit too "clean". The guitars are distorted, certainly, it's just that I don't think that a distortion pedal is automatically a guarantee for good rock music. Never the less, the play list I've put up here has certainly some tracks you may remember or find interesting. Have a good time...

She has made three albums but has never heard the last album as it came out after Amy Winehouse had left us. R&B, soul and jazz were her "thing". Her lyrics were creative and rich in word choice and expression. Her voice was dark and intriguing. The albums she has left us are great to listen to and have a fantastic diversity. Enjoy...

This band is great. They play country/rock/pop music that is, they transform the songs they play into a country track. And that sounds actually pretty darn, good. Yeehaaah, if I may be so bold. Their music has an automatic party mood and is very well executed. The songs played by BossHoss are instantly recognisable  and sometimes I actually prefer their version than the original. Here's a compilation of their tracks, have a good time...

Billy Ocean has had some fantastic hits in the charts. A great a vocalist in soul and disco. Smooth groovin' and lovely rhythm based disco hits. Great voice with that and therefor no wonder that this man has been one of the most successful artists during the eighties. He's still performing today but also does seminars for music students. That's what I call, giving back. Listen to a compilation of his work and enjoy...

I almost forgot them. It was when I heard Maneater on the radio that I thought, yes, of course Hall & Oates have to have a space here. Their music is a mixture of soul and pop. Nice and uncomplicated. Don't expect guitar solo's or some belting out of songs because you won't find that with them. You do have a nice silence remover that's easy on the ears. Enjoy...
