Music with quality

Hello everybody, I have put up the third album of the  Open Top Cars And Girls In T-Shirts series. It's a nice album with a bit of rock, a bit of soul and some pop music. Laid back relax music performed by well known artists. For the aficionado's  you will find some gems in here again. There is a little mystery with these albums however and if anybody could shed some light on this that would be great. Here is the question: In the Open Top Cars & Girls In T-shirts series, there are, supposedly, three albums. 1, 2 and 3. I have found album 1 and 3 and I have put these up here for you to listen at. I can not find a single trace of album number two. So if any of you may have an answer or you may have found a picture or the list of songs that are to be on that album, please, feel free and let me know. For now, here's Open Top Cars & Girls in T-shirts album number 3. Enjoy...

A band that has influenced all the aspiring rock bands in the beginning of  the seventies with their sound. Glam rock and the name T. Rex are two names that will be forever linked. The songs played by T. Rex are what I consider: soft rock songs. The music is never fast or too loud. This happened during the "hippie" era so it is easy to see why the music is so laid back. They have influenced bands like: The Ramones, The Smiths and The Who, among others. No small feat as these bands turned out to become internationally, highly successful. Here you have a collection of songs from T. Rex, enjoy...

I discovered this by accident and thought that this was extremely well made. Very fast, yet melodic. The sound of the guitars has a great distortion but not too scratchy as sometimes is the case with metal bands. The vocals and the choirs are lovely on this album. And fair is fair, the vocalist Mr. Hansi Kürsch is a great singer. Great vocal control, just incredible. This is music that if it's played quietly and gentle in the background it is sheer pleasure but when played loud this will transform itself into musical dynamite. Enjoy the album: Touched by the Crimson King of the Demons & Wizards.

I have always been a fan of Hed Kandi. I know that these are not (at least not for me) the best dance tracks in the world. It's not what I look for with Hed Kandi. I like how the music you hear has been remixed in this "groove". I like this kind of music on in the back ground and do stuff and every once in a while, I focus a bit more to listen what is actually going on. This album is called A Taste of Winter. And when I see the summer we are having right now, I think this music should do very well. Have a good time and enjoy...

This was a band that played one of the most beautiful versions of metal. Very melodic and covered with a fantastic voice. Type O Negative became known thanks to the album: Bloody Kisses. If I had to be on a desert island, this album is one that I would take with me. It has a wonderful musical setting, surprising even because this is not what you expect metal music to be. This is a very creative album that deserved more exposure on the radio but because it isn't commercial pop music, evidently this could not happen. Never mind that now because now it is on MWQ. The guitar sounds are without exaggerating an example and a must achieve, for many beginning rock bands. This is what I call a serious distorted sound with attitude. The drums have this marvelous presence all throughout the albums and has done something that only few bands know to achieve, it has left space for the other members of the band. (Something that you can find also with Led Zeppelin) The voice of the late Peter Steele is dark, slightly scary but also very intriguing. The songs are musical gems, one after another and you stay permanently curious as what will come next. One thing for the not hard rock fans: You will still like this album because it is that good. It may take you two or three times to  get used to it. Once there however, there will be no turning back, welcome to the dark side. I hope you all appreciate this wonderful album, enjoy...

It is Friday again. I hope you all have a lovely day today. The weekend is there and with some luck, it will be warm and sunny. I hope you have planned something that will be fun to do and that it will make you feel fantastic and satisfied. The song that is today's Absolute Weekend Masterpiece is from an English band that have been acknowledged and are loved all over the world and as a bonus I have put in an extra link so you can here the song being performed by another artist but unplugged. Ladies and gentlemen, Here is Goldplay - Every Tear is a Waterfall.   Extra surprise link. Enjoy!!!

The first clip to show here on MWQ is a clip that shows how surprising people can be. I don't think that they will win but this is at least worth an honorable mention, Enjoy the Bosom Buddies...
The next clip is very short but the twin brothers have a very creative kind of a rap/poetry/sing and guitar act. And at the same time it is funny. I have never seen anything like this but I do think that this is a very nice way of doing a musical act. Enjoy J-Unity...
The next clip is from a Mr MckNasty. He drums and DJ's and I have to admit that I may not be the right person to have an opinion on this. I, personally, I was not impressed. Never the less: Have a look and enjoy...
The last clip is from Alex Keirl. He sings Bring Him Home. An absolutely fantastic voice and a great interpretation of the song. And yet I am not sure if he will make it to the finals. (And now between brackets - Is this Jack Osbourne who traveled in time?) Enjoy...

This is about the album: Going Out in Style of the Dropkick Murphys. This is a great album with happy go lucky music. Their music is punk rock music with Celtic influences. It means you will hear bagpipes and accordion music in their songs as well. Their music has great energy and is very upbeat. The surprising thing about this band is that they are from Quincy in Massachusetts. No Scottish, Irish or even English people at the horizon, so to speak and yet, their music sounds like it has been directly recorded in the Highlands. You can hear punk influences from bands like the Pogues, the Clash and the Sex Pistols. The voices are well presented and numerous. This is what I would classify as: GPM, Great Party Music. Listen to their album and enjoy....

Tupac Shakur passed away at the young age of 25, after being shot in a drive-by. His work has been sold however in excess of more than 75 million albums and that makes him the most successful rapper in the history of music. The rap style of Shakur is called Hip - Hop. His way of rapping is laid back, what I mean to say is, there is no shouting involved. The samples and grooves used in his music are over all, slow, with a very low bass. You will hear samples from well known songs and sometimes part of the original song lyrics are used as well. There are often background vocalists used in his tracks and that gives a nice soul music effect on his work. Enjoy this compilation of 2Pac...

Brian Eno is a producer, musician, songwriter and artist. Brian Eno is also a person who has created the "first" ambiance or chill music. Through his work and his remixes he has been able to get acquainted and work with all sorts of musicians in different styles of music among others David Bowie, Coldplay, Paul Simon or U2. A very creative person who has influenced the course of music significantly over the years. Not because  Brian Eno has made a number of best selling records with a certified amount of smash hits per album, no Brian Eno is known for going the extra mile when he is working with artists in the recording studio. He seems to be able to get that much more out of an artist and the equipment and that is what has made him a person who deserves to be on MWQ. The music you will hear is the great album: Ambient 1: Music for Airports. Great relaxing music for a Sunday. Enjoy Brian Eno...
