Most music lovers and music know-ers agree, this is where punk came from. Years ahead of it's time The Stooges played punk music in the late sixties and early seventies. A certain Iggy Pop was a co-founder of that band and would make some very interesting albums once working solo. The music of The Stooges wasn't a success in the early days. It never turned out to be a great success seen from a commercial point but the influences that this band would generate has been huge and we still hear that today. People and bands influenced by their work were among others: Sex Pistols, Kurt Cobain, Rage Against The Machine and Guns 'n Roses. Punk music would never have been able to get as raw and wild as it turned out to be without the works of Iggy Pop and The Stooges.
