Music with quality

This is about Pat Metheney's album: Imaginary Day. Pat Metheney makes jazz fusion music. The album Imaginary Day is very rich in different incorporated styles and sounds. Personally, for certain songs, I get this Carlos Santana feeling but that is also due to the fact that, sometimes, Carlos and Pat both play songs with a Gibson and obviously that sound is very universal. (No they do not play together on this album, they played together in 1985 on a little concert called Live Aid.) Anyway, I like this album because of it's very laid back style. The instrumental setting is rich but not "messy" or disturbing. The over all harmonies of the melodies are nicely supported by the rhythm sections and both are leaving enough space for one and another to be heard without battling for attention or space. A wonderful piece of craftsmanship, enjoy...
