Music with quality

Perhaps it is because I'm male and am getting older (yeah, because when women reach a certain age they don't get any older anymore and rightfully so. Note to oneself: Find out how they do that...) and when you get older your taste changes. Believe me I was a bit surprised when I found out that I like this kind of music. ( a big fat lot) I had to analyse this of course and found out that Dreadzone basically plays a lovely mixture between reggae, ska, hip hop with some folk, pop and rock influences. The most important thing for me however because this is a reproach I have on this kind of music, here for once, the rhythm is always fast and well filled. Not heavy, mind you. This is not drum and bass, oh no, the music here is filled with sounds, loops and instruments that play along. Another thing that is wonderful to follow here is the evolution musical wise, per album. The younger the albums get, the more the instruments play a track and the computerised bits seems to become less. There are two names that I have to mention, the first one: The late Mr John Peel, he promoted this fantastic band and made it available for the music loving masses. The other name is Davina. She was with me in the library in London (Kensington High) when I couldn't decide what to borrow and she just picked out this CD from Dreadzone and said all right, take this, can we go now? Without this little incident listening to their music here would probably have been impossible. Some last name throwing: Dreadzone comes from Big Audio Dynamite comes from The Clash. If you don't know who the Clash were, go and study. Enjoy the music of Dreadzone...
