Ronnie James Dio

Ronnie James Dio is the man who could say that he's done it all, seen it all, has the t-shirt and deserves his rest. The musical life of this person is astounding. The quantity of recordings this man has left behind is incredible. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get Ronnie's older work published here as well. But you can see and hear some old work from him on youtube if you're curious. These were the beginnings of Ronnie James Dio. He started his career in 1958 and sung until he died in 2010. That is a remarkable 52 years of giving music to people. I have the biggest part of his work published here. The first very interesting part and the set up for Ronnie's future hard rock career was with the Electric Elves later just named Elf. Here you can still hear the blues influences but also the growing interest in music that would become harder, louder and faster. After Elf, Ronnie joined Rainbow where he played with Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple. Ronnie's next band was with Black Sabbath where he replaced Ozzy Osbourne. Than, he started Dio and made ten albums with them. (Shortly returning at some point to make a Black Sabbath album again) His last studio album was with Heaven and Hell (the same Black Sabbath setting as Ronnie used to work with but with a different name). It is safe to say that without Ronnie James Dio, hard rock and heavy metal music would not have been able to flourish and be promoted on such a large scale. Enjoy the music he has left us...
