Golden Earring made the classic hit Radar Love. That song has been played by a serious amount of other artists and you will find it back in quite a few movies as well. They have started in (and I was very surprised about this) 1961 and they are still playing their own brand of hard rock 'n roll. They have a wonderful rhythm section and the drummer has a great way of stealing the show during concerts by wearing a jacket that contains hidden "drumpads". The bass player is cited by Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) as an important influence. Even though Golden Earring has never really made it to the top internationally, their music is well appreciated and even today, where some of the band members are getting close to the ripe age of seventy, they still manage to play for sold out arena's.
