James Brown

The Godfather of Soul he's named but should that not be The Godfather of Funk? James Brown has left us with a fantastic collection of music. JB started in the fifties  as a crooner and soul singer but over the years, more and more  he started pushing his rhythm sections up front. This has enabled us, years later, to listen for example to a band called The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The beginning of James Brown's career shows however that he originated in blues and soul music.
