Music with quality

Sheer hard rock pleasure for three albums. After that, I gave up. Not that that matters much because non of the albums that have been recorded after those three did better on a commercial level than just these three albums. And musically speaking, I think there are only two albums on which they are playing on top level. Queensrÿche, they are spectacular. The albums I'm talking about are: Rage For Order, Operation Mindcrime and Empire. These three albums have it all. All styles, gimmicks, tricks, licks, riffs, harmonies, gothics, trashics, operaics and speedics are represented. And oh boy, are these albums lovely to listen to.
Rage For Order is the album that is defining the sound and way of song writing for Queensrÿche. You can still hear where they come from and also where they are going to. And man, are they going. To the album: Operation Mindcrime. This is like Tommy or The Wall but in hard rock version. What a composition, what an eclectic gathering of sounds. It's all molded in this gigantic roller coaster of an album, that is so filled with sounds and technical instrumental ism that you will have to listen at least three times to it, in order to let it all sink in and find yourself a bit, in the musical passion. And after that there's the album: Empire. Completely different from Operation Mindcrime. Suddenly we are listening to eleven individual tracks. Very melodic, rather on the heavy side, as a good dark red wine. Great stuff. So here they are, have a good listen.
