Kinks

I grew up listening to this band and I often wondered if they would be friends with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones as at times they sounded so much alike. The Kinks, what a great band. Very creative lyrics and great pop tunes. Or should that be rock tunes? After all You really got me is like one of the ancestors of the metal scene. (Covered by Van Halen, among others). Here you have the musical history of a group from London's sixties. Even today ,talking with musicians in the streets and pubs of London they will name the Kinks as a major influence.
