Music with quality

A few years ago, in 1970, there was this band called Badfinger. Two members, Pete Ham and Tom Evans wrote, separately (Ham the chorus and Evans the verse) this incredible song  that first came out as the last track of the a-side of the album No Dice.
This song would become one of the most covered songs in the world. Here is their version of: Without you
Now I also like to present you a few people who covered this song: Harry Nilsson, Dame Shirley Bassey (Who also did a Spanish version), Donny Osmond, Chris de Burgh (Did he use Auto -Tune for those high notes?) and of course the version that made an international star of Mariah Carey
It is a wonderful song but I would not advice anybody to cover it again. It has made great improvement from it's original version to the Mariah Carey one but I think that everybody who's been covering it after her is basically descending it down to it's original state. Now here is the very sad, fairly unknown story behind this song.
